• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Excellent man - thanks!

Funny, I was just checking out your site last night and wondering if you were still around. Just subscribed to your YouTube channel. :yah

You're favoring the Firebird these days, it seems. What amp are you playing through. As always, your playing sounds great! :applaude

Yes, I'm still here! I haven't updated my website for a long time. I must do that. I'm trying to post something on YouTube at least once a week, and I also have an Instagram account ('mybluesguitar') where I have started posting a clip from the latest video and directing anyone who's interested to a link in my profile. All the videos I've made so far have been done in Garageband. I use the 'crunch' setting, and within that the 'Heartbroken' setting, then get a 'working' tone to make the recording, then play around with the cab, mic and amp settings to get somewhere in the ball park of the original guitar sound. I've used the Firebird on this one because that's what Eric was playing the night the three live 'Goodbye' tracks were recorded (although I think he used a full-sized humbucker guitar, possibly a 355 for the first number, White Room: if you listen to desk recordings of the night you can hear after that number the squeal of a jack going into a guitar socket, and if you listen to the non-wah single string parts in White Room it is a thicker sound than the rest of the night). I like switching between the guitars. For the last set of videos I used my Squier CV Strat ('Had To Cry Today'). Thanks for subscribing to the channel :salude
