• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I needed something smaller than my Super Reverb...

so I decided to put together a 1-12" combo, with a SF Bassman. I just put a Pete Anderson model Eminence Hempdog speaker in it, it sounds pretty sweet.

Very cool.

Did something similar with my '68, but with a 1X15 (Emi Commonwealth) cab.

I remember seeing your amp way back, as I was in my initial planning stages. Very cool!

I was also driven by economics... a SFDR is $1200+. A Louis Electric or similar is $2k +.

This project totaled out at $800. The speaker was worth both the added weight, and the $$$.

maybe a fender super champ ?

Good one!!!

Patick, now if you mod that bass channel you can have a much more versatile amp....the Normal channel is a HOT AB763 guitar channel, and you can make the Bass channel into a differently voiced and even hotter guitar channel....more of a midrange thing.
Had I been in you situation, I would have gone for a 4 ohm speaker. Ommv.....

I had an original Super Champ with a JBL K110 that was a killer! Need clean rhythm tones... the SC was KILLER for leads (through the clean channel with a Fulldrive)!

Wally what is your exp running 8 ohm speakers through a 4 ohm output? I have heard it could be problems. I have also heard going lower impedance is not an issue.
