I have come across what I believe is a 1969 Les Paul Custom. It has been heavily played. Starting at the headstock:
The frets were original, but totally worn away and unplayable. Pots have been changed out over the years. Bridge replaced with a solid brass abomination. Hope to add some pics, because I know that without them, it never happened.
Any thoughts? Am I on or off base? Should I restore and refinish, or refret and play the crap out of it?
if this one works, more pics on the way.
- The serial number is close: 128480
- Keys have been changed to Schallers, but the imprint of the Kluson Deluxe tuners is visible.
- Gibson logo (sans dot)
- 3 Piece Mahogany Neck
- No volute
- No "Made in USA" imprint
- One piece Mahogany Body w/ Maple Cap
- Stickered PAF's
