Well, not really, it's called a "bajo sexto" and is tuned an octave lower than a regular guitar.
I live three or four miles from the border and I can tell you that these things are the bees' knees down here!
(The band is called "Calibre 50" and the guitarist is Eden Muñoz.)
And they come in many shapes...!
