• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I have two 1936 "stereo" cabs and a JCM 2204/800
I want to run a small stack, two 2/12 cabs with 2204 on top
I don't want to deal with the "stereo" in puts, I want to run each cab into the back of the head where the 2 speaker inputs are.
the cabs have a 16 ohm mono and a 4 ohm mono choice and 1each 8 ohm right and left which is stereo.
So, what is the configuration I should use and what would the ohm setting on the amp be?

example: plug each speaker into the 16 ohm mono and into the 2 speaker outs on the head and set at 8 ohms on the head?

And what exactly is the use and or reason for the "stereo" plug ins?

Set both cabs to 16-Ohm mono and set the amp to 8-Ohms.
Setting the cabs to 4-Ohms mono will only give your amp a 2-Ohm load.
