• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I know the difference between studios and standards, but what's the difference between the likes of a Standard, Classic, Traditional etc?

Are they all the same quality of build, with the differences in pickups, neck profiles etc? Or is there a wider difference?

The specs are available on the Gibson website for you to peruse at your leisure.

None of that will compare to simply going into a store and trying all 3. Guitars are not only a personal preference, but highly individual from 1 instrument to the other.

Trads usually have thicker neck styles than Standards., All three will use different pickups

All of them are made in the Nashville plant

Well if it's new guitars the Gibson website is the best spot to check.

But, over the years that group of models has underground changes in neck profiles, neck joints, bridges, pickups, controls, weight relief etc etc which is tough enough to wrap one's head around.

I agree, if you're that open to all the differences go scope some out if you can and you be the judge.
