maybe chris cornell's family needs to accept that chris had some responsibility in it. maybe his family should have recognized that he had issues and done the responsible thing and dealt with them. but why do that when you can blame someone else.

I totally agree. He likely went to the doctor and complained of anxiety and insomnia. Medications that treat such things and are commonly prescribed can be quite dangerous if abused, including benzodiazepines and sedating TCA's, and can be misused by patients, including for an overdose. Additionally other CNS depressants may have been utilized, possibly without the physician's knowledge, including opioids, etoh, etc. SSRI's can also increase the risk of suicide. Hell overdosing on tylenol will kill you..over a few days..from liver failure. The point is the doctor was probably trying to treat his condition, and the decision to abuse the medication came from Chris Cornell, and no one else, for whatever the reason, possibly depression with psychotic features, who knows. But if the doctor prescribed according to the correct standard of practice, and didn't overprescribe, and kept good records, good luck winning that litigation, unlikely to happen! They probably got a schister lawyer and they are hoping for a quick settlement, without going to trial. Sad.
