I agree, and I've never seen another [real] Burst with the same type of maple figure either. :)

And I've never seen a picture that came close to capturing what it does in real life. It's mesmerizing.

0 2188 brings her to mind but even she must bow down to the Queen Sandy

Hey, I'm with you, Leon! Got to see Chicken Shack (with Christine) opening for FM at the Fillmore West back in the day! I can't recall which guitar Stan was playing. Peter had left FM by that time, but Jeremy stepped it up and Danny was amazing. Great show all the way around.

I, too, and a huge fan of those two Savoy Brown albums. Perfect lineup and great selection of material. I only recently acquired Hellbound Train and was pleasantly surprised. Street Corner Talking is a perfect album, love it.

Yeah, I caught two "early" FM shows in '69 at the local "teen center" in Birmingham, MI. First one was with Peter, Jeremy and Danny, second with Jeremy, Danny and Christine and both were among--if not the best--rock concerts I ever saw. Yeah, Danny Kirwin really stepped up to the plate on the Kiln House stuff and just killed it live.

Also totally agree about Street Corner Talking. That record is absolutely perfect!! I wore out my first copy when I was learning to play. A better lesson in taste, tone and economy won't be found.

Some years ago, I remember seeing just a few seconds live footage on a BBC recording of Stan Webb playing that Burst, (can't immediately remember the TV show title) but I thought the top flame on that guitar was absolutely stunning.

Did mention it here shortly after the BBC UK TV screening and seem to recall Tom Wittrock mentioning it had 'passed through his hands' at some point many years ago.

I never had that one or even saw it in person.
I did used to own 0-0208, another very flamey 60 and maybe that led to the confusion. :)

Cant wait to get a full report. Hate I couldn't make it DP. The wife and I wish we would have gone to this event in lieu of that beat down we took in Lexington, KY at the game. :dang

I have to say, 0 0205 is probably the most impressive top I have seen - Im knackered at the moment but a great weekend thanks to
Drew Berlin, Matt the owner, Stan Webb, mike and ron( the owner of the venue) - will post some pics asap
There will be a feature in vintage guitar mag at some point
I brought back CC#38 030 - not quite as good as the real deal or 026 given to Stan which was a great CC
