Which do you prefer? Black, White, Bare, or one of the celluloid materials - brown, red or tiger stripe?

If it doesn't have one, I say leave it off. Why cover up pretty wood with an ugly, useless piece of plastic?

I'm surprised how each celluloid example ruined the entire look of the guitar.

I vote, White - it's classic!

Yea white definitely works. But I was thinking about a tribute to their flattops, like a J45. I exagerated the colors. Now that I look a little closer, they didn't use a red celluloid, just the brown, sometimes so dark it looks black. The red was only used on the J50's I think? Here's some J45's with the two typical celluloid pickguards:
