Incredible axes! Thank you Tom. :salude

In 1960, which changed first out of the fade-resistant tops and the reflector?:hmm

big difference in fade. When did the fade resistant clown burst start? Mid year?

I wouldn't call that a clown burst. The new red started showing up in the 0-1400 series, but fading red showed up as late as 0-2000.
The reflector knobs were later, somewhere in the 0-7000 number series.

This is very useful info! And why this place rules.

I didn’t mean this particular burst. I have seen brighter ones and the one on the left looks more like the way earlier ones for the most part faded. Thanks for the info.

My 0-2165 is not aniline, but it's not clown burst. It's a much more natural looking red, that has some slight type of fading to it. I've seen others in the same range like this. I think there was an intermediary color between aniline and clown burst.

Fading IS weird-my 59 shows up in Burst Gang as pretty nice red, yet by the early 00s it had faded to lemon drop!

Really nice looking guitars, Tom! Just a friend sharing his joy?
