• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Makes me wonder about that Reverb page. My '69 has a maple cap top and I am under the impression that the 68's were issued that way, too.

It also says that Neil Young is a notable LPC player? His "Old Black" is an old Goltop painted black. That's about it.

A little more homework needed.

The fellow who creates/maintains lateSixtiesLesPauls.com makes no mention of this, near as I can tell, FWIW.

Spot on. I haven't seen one.

Good story though, there was this guy that SWORE his guitar was all hog. You could actually SEE the maple in the control cavity, but he refused to believe me. I even zoomed his JPG in and circled the maple. Still didn't believe me. Sigh.....
