• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Here's some Catnip for everyone

"Well, 10 years ago I would have been flooded with emails by now, but not one response."

Probably because in those 10 years, many have become adept at knowing what to avoid.

Why would anybody sell a guitar like this, if it is a real '59, on Craigslist to begin with? Death-wish? Loves to deal with scam artists?

One very nice 1959 Les Paul burst 9 2207. Changed parts are as follows:
3 way switch and input jack changed in the 80's.
Capacitors changed at various times as necessary
Pickup rings replaced with some fancy "over the pond" surrounds that are supposed to be the same plastic type.
Frets were replaced a few times, and fretboard leveled. The present frets are stainless steel.
Tuners were replaced in the 90's with historic reissue kluson's(original tuners with melted plastic buttons in the case)
Bridge pu cover is in the case
Much of the finish has checking and is missing mostly on the back of the neck and a couple grind spots on the back of the body.
Switch cover is broken and a piece missing, but most of it is there and screwed on.
$150,000. cash.
That's about half price to see if there is any response. I want to see if that other chap is right about guitar collecting being a dead sport? He might be right. DJ's seem to be playing where bands once plied their trade. Spandex and girl makeup pretty much killed Rock and Roll, so....he is right about Gibson. Those "Chibson's" are actually Gibson's. If 51% of your companies money is situated here(as in cororate offices and salaries) then you can claim Made In USA just like the Chibson's. That IS Gibson. Moving to China like most everyone else, and the quality has been taken away.

The 'burst right before Greeny, interesting choice.

Looks more like a CC#18 Dutchburst with different nobs.

That second one sounds like it's written by the same person.

Exactly. I'm sure the Emperor knew he would get a rise out of the members of this and other guitar forums by posting this bogus ad.

Mission accomplished.
