Hi Everyone - I wanted to share an awesome story. A few months ago I came across a kind fella with his original 1960 ES-355 TDSV. He bought it new in late 1960 at Shakleton's Music in Louisville, KY for his band, the Redcoats....As you can see from the guitar, it's a very fitting instrument for the band! He had this band from 1957 until they disbanded in 1969. The guitar then went into hibernation in his closet as he didn't play much guitar after that. That is, until now! He was kind enough to pass the torch to me and I couldn't be happier. So meet, the Redcoat: The original, flamey 1960 ES-355 from Kentucky. Cheers!

Geeky details:
Neck PAF: 8.2
Bridge PAF: 8.5
SN: A33272
FON: R35XX 9
Original Stereo, Bigsby
Transitional neck - Wide and thinner, but still nice and rounded

Absolutely fantastic.

What a guitar.

The pictures of the owner as a very young, and then slightly older Man, are just superb to see.

Thanks for posting. :salude

Well done, that is beautiful. The picture of the Redcoats gives provenance, and really makes for a great story. Love to hear it if you record any clips.

Amazing. Stunning. This is one of the nicest 355's I've ever seen, in terms of that flame and the unreal condition it's in. I thought for sure it had to be a reissue (or that I was having a dream). Did that band play two gigs in 12 years, or what?!? :) I mean, it's ridiculously clean.

If you're so inclined, it would be great to see more photos (as many as you'd like to share... like a hundred-ish!) :laugh2: Congratulations, sir.

Thank you for the kind words, I will gather some more photos! The band wasn't really a "gigging band" - They played mostly in the early 60's and were a swing band.
Here was their "hit" single - As you can tell - There was just some light picking involved with that kind of music and not much wear on the guitar :hank
