R7, R8 what does it mean

I am new to the Les Paul Vibe, mostly a superstrat (Jackson / USA BC Rich) looking to pick up one of the 2018 Tributes but was wondering when I look at the board alot of posters refer to R7 or R8 ect. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN !!!

R is Reissue. 7 is 1957. 8 is 1958. There are also R4, 5, 6, 9, 0s out there. BB7 would be a Black Beauty 1957 BB4 is the same on a 1954.
