• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

52-59 conversion. What do you guys think of this one?

I like how the product listing lists year as 1959.
For $40k i'd expect the poker chip and jackplate to be vintage, or at least accurate repro's, not to mention the knobs, truss rod cover (which isn't disclosed in the listing), pointers, rings, pickgaurd, and nut. You know, all cheap cheap things to source to make this thing more complete down the road. The cherry filler around the neck to body joint also leaves a lot to be desired at $40k. IMO

Let's take a $20k'ish guitar, toss a couple of grand worth of work into it, and now sell it for double? :hmm

At least the cutaway horn looks super '59 accurate in shape :wah
Reverb listing has been updated since, I guess, and they probably read your post. It's listed for $29,500 now.
