• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

There's just a huge cool factor on pinstriped guitars. Love this look.

I have a few of the reissues. 6122-1962, 6120-1959, and 6119-1962.
I also have a '66 6119. The old Gretsches and new Gretsches are so different.

All great pics. I have a MIJ Chet Stereo Gretsch and I cannot imagine it being any better. It's so well made and plays so well. I real treat. I'll try to get a pic up.

agricultural build quality, LOL! agricultural on the inside, and painted up like beauty queens on the outside :dude:
Wish I had one - so I could post siren song alarm reviews. Nice BF!<style type="text/css">p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 8.0px 0.0px; font: 11.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; color: #000000; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000}span.s1 {font-kerning: none}</style>

I've owned Gretsch's since 1970. I've had a number of them over the years.. About 1976 I had two )120's, a '58 & a 1960/61. About 5 years ago I had 8 Gretsches, now I'm down to 2, a 1962 & a 1964 Country Clubs. Thin body on both and the '62 has Trestle Bracing. I wouldn't trade a damn thing for either except for a '59 through '61 Country Gent, single cutaway. But those most likely aren't hardly any different than my single cutaway Country Clubs.

Wow!

What are your thoughts about the recent Made in Japan Gretsches? When having the real McCoy like you there is no reason really I guess for you to check the new ones out, but I was curious.

I'm seriously considering an American Made Custom Shop Masterbuilt Duo Jet, but I have to say that my MIJ Black Falcon is really flawless in its build/fit/finish.

fair enough I can dig it, I went to Setzer Signatures cause I needed more chime and twang, but the HS Filters are very cool pickups too
Update from April:

Swapped out the HS Filters and installed a Lollar-Tron Vintage in the neck and a Lollar-Tron Modern in the bridge - very happy with this combo...

thanks for the update! very intriguing! I have full humbucker sized Lollartrons in a Kauer Banshee (firebird) that are pretty nice, but I don't know anything about Lollar's filtertron sized filtertrons :D . What made you go that route instead of with a TV Jones offering if I may ask, although I'm sure that they sound great! Is the Lollar-tron Modern like a TF Jones Powertron, or Classic+ ?

ultra cool...I've never had a double cutaway Gretsch, how do they balance, any neck dive?

I know this isn't the same, but I've held off getting a Penguin cause with the double cutaway and that big headstock I'm afraid of neck dive, which I can't stand

Took me a while to answer! No, no neck dive on either my 6120 or 6128.
