• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I like to be liking this thread.

And interesting enough.

Consider this.

Clapton, Page, Beck.

All Yardbirds.

All Les Paul players.

All three with iconic Les Pauls.

And then there's Billy.

Certainly he played a strat on La Grange.

But to this day Elwood would tell you that every guitar Billy plays is eq'd exactly to Pearly.

And then along came some dude named Ace.

He sold more Les Pauls than all the previous mentioned put together.

That is...

Until another British guy named Saul came along.

And now to get really freaky.

There was this guy named Jim Marshall.

Its like a worldwide conspiracy to take over the music world!

So from this thread we can take it that EC, MB and JP made bursts popular in the '60s..........you only had to look at record covers to see that PG, MT, JB and DA used them also........ and the rest add to the history......to present day.
Is there anything more.

Tom you made a life of knowing about some things.

The rest of us think we know about some things.

I have forgotten a lot of that, making room for other things [or just losing it :spabout].

But I still think I know something. :hmm
