    69 LP Custom questions

    Hi,
    I got a this 69 Custom a while ago.
It had the neck refinished, so i did a few Xrays to see if there had been a neck break, and there is no evidence of a repair.
Relying on what i read on the net, those had transitional neck tenon while this has a long neck tenon.
So my question is: where there 69 Customs with long neck tenon?
Unfortunately the pot codes are hard to read.
    Here are a few pics:

    Re: 69 LP Custom questions

We had an old thread listing specs of LSLP that people owned here...........

There were a lot of variations from this period. My gold top has a one piece body & a transitional tenon. It has the same case that yours has, with the exception of padding all around the body.

Check out the Late sixties LP website (LSLP)- it has pics of all of the tenons. That is quite long for that period.
Take a look at that site. Moonweasel here runs it.

All early 69 Customs still had long tenon and one piece neck until may or june of 69. Then many other changes slowly came... (3 piece neck, maple layer under maple cap, small protovolutes, full pancake bodies...)
My diagnosis is: Hiwatt and Norlinphilia
