• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

How did you mod your Memphis ES-335 ?

I reflexively threw brass thumbwheels on it, and then, forgetting what I had done, started falling out of love with it, and wondering why I was losing sustain. I went back to the stock wheels and all was better -tone, sustain, love it again. Like a good strat, don't think there's any sure thing upgrade to a great sounding ES-335. The MHS buckers are a huge surprise - I really like them in this guitar - remind me of the PAFs in my old ES-355, and they're keeping some nice sets in the drawer. This one is staying stock.

Very nice to know. I have been really enjoying the MHS buckers in my ES LP. I haven't played real PAF's but I know when I like a good tone.

I have a '59 335 RI on the way and I am really looking forward to playing.

Mine's a Warren Haynes '61 reissue. I swapped out the pups for Seth Lovers. Been thinking about changing out the wheels for brass ones.

Oh, I also tightened one of the pots which was loose.

I have Lovers in my 58 LPRI how are they in the 335?

I noticed only one (I think) person changed the harness. Didn’t feel the need to? Too much hassle?
ive got a 2017 Memphis 63 historic and was wondering what you folks thought of the harness on these guitars.

Black and silver reflector knobs, Grover 135 tuners, Ruskie PIO caps, Faber locking bridge, Gibson Historic studs and tailpiece, Wolfetone Legend pickups, New more accurate to the old pickguard. Other than that, bone stock. :)
