I'm looking to dye my alder body after sand prepping it. What would be a better sealer? Tru oil or satin clear lacquer? I'm using the Keda wood dye

Any tips are appreciated!

Thanks

My vote would be for Tru Oil because I have had a lot of success on the necks of the guitars I have built. It finishes smoothly and does have some grain fill capabilities depending on the application technique.

However, lacquer is quite a bit easier to undo if you want to go a different direction. Tru Oil penetrates much more than lacquer.

How's that for non-committal, wishy-washy advice? Do post pics when done.
