• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Please need help indentifiying this guitar - a Gibson or a fake

Not a Gibson [not even close].

Just an Asian made 'Les Paul style' guitar of some kind.

No, not even close. Gibson have never produced a Les Paul with bolt-on neck. The bridge is not correct, nor the tuners, and there are more giveaways like the headstock, inlays and so on.

The OP's guitar looks like an "Ibanez knockoff" from the late 70's, which would make it a knockoff of a knockoff... :peace2

I have to ask about which museum this would be housed in ? The museum of fake bootleg firewood ?

I believe it was Winton Chuchill who stated: "There has NEVER been a guitar so bad represented as a guitar so good." Winston Churchill did not play any guitars that I know of.

Isn't that the test guitar used to demo their unmatched vintage Marshall collection?
