• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hello gang! I'm glad to finally be a part of the club! I have an SG, Firebird, Hummingbird and now finally, a new Les Paul!

Congrats! That's purty! I like the iced tea finish!
It really looks like a Trad Pro without the covers!

Thank you!

I like them both.. However, I just don't know if the covers change the sound.. I LOVE the way it sounds now.. thinking that covers might dull the attack a bit..

Open coil zebras all the way! :)

I have a 2016 Trad in Iced Tea and put zebra Manlius Pickups in it (Hot Rod 59 in the bridge, Landmark PAF in the neck) looks killer... as does yours!

With covers.
Very small difference in sound IMO but a big difference in protection for your pickups.

Thanks, everyone! It's a tough decision. The last comment has persuaded me.. protecting the pickups sounds like a reasonable consideration.
I notice that my fingers are getting caught up in the tape around the bobbins already.

I meant to say that's a great looking LP you have there covers or no . :2zone

Another thing to consider is string rub on the bobbins. However , maybe you like some natural wear ? I do .

Well if you have more than one LP really it is nice to have one with and one w/o along with zebras/solids as well as a top wrap and so forth etc, give yourself a chance to taste the flavor and variety with your toys.:salude
