• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

And some new, prototype strings.

1964 Super 400CES was Dr Van Hoose's, then part of the Chinery Collection, then back to Dr VH, and now in my appreciative and undeserving hands.

Sounds as big as she looks!

Had some Thomastik flat wounds on it that were fine.

Trying some prototypes 12-54 round wound, round core, pure nickel wraps that open her up and make her ring like a grand piano.

Yes, that is exactly what it sounds like...that fat, percussive, big sound is what you get from the 1964 Super 400.

Next part is approximating the swing and groove of KB....that's the hard part.

Great video...perhaps the hippest youtube on the LPF! Thanks.
