Actually, you have that backwards. Elton John has acknowledged the assistance , support and encouragement that Leon Russell gave to Elton in making his first inroads to the stardom that E. John has enjoyed.

He doesn't have it backwards, it's a fact that Leon helped out Elton in the early years, but the poster said Elton helped him in his final years, which Elton did by recording "The Union" album with him, and bringing Leon back some respect, as Leon's career was going seriously downhill. He was playing some really small crappy gigs just to survive. And The Union was his best selling album since 1972's Carney! I'm sure the money from that album helped him out quite a bit! And he went out on a strong note!
