• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What is this guitar effect?

So guys, I've been looking around for a long time now and can't find a clue about what type of harmonic is this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkUpfw4Hf3w @ 4:28)
I'm pretty sure it's not pinch harmonics. He just plays a vibrato and the harmonic pops in. Here's another example (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_jBmzaJ7Wk @0:10). Can someone explain what harmonic is this? It seems to only occur on Les Paul guitars I think because of the 24.75" scale? I'm not sure. It might also be amp induced effect but I can't tell.

Nice tutorial. Thanks for sharing!

There is also this tutorial, it explains everything! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luURyH9fzhk

If you're looking to get Gary Moore type of sustain, he played with very high gain. He used amps with lots of cascade (Marshall, Soldano) and OD pedals on top of that. There was a great, informative thread a couple of months ago about all of his gear and how he got his sound. Search it and it should come up. :)

Thanks a lot again :)
