• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Steve Craw, are you the "Happy Piano Tuner" that used to be in NYC recording studios all the time?

Not me, I'm afraid. I started my career on the west coast, before coming to the Rochester, NY area back in 1977.

I love this view. Refinished fallboard and a new/old set of beautiful ivories.

Really cool, great work!
But does it pay to restore a piano in such a laborous way? Is this a collectible, high quality instrument lika a vintage Gibson?

In today's piano market, where there isn't as much interest in piano as a few years ago. I still restore pianos for their owners, which can run $10,000 plus, but mostly you restore a piano because the owner wants to give their piano another lifetime of use.

The Weber that I'm restoring is a prime brand in it's day, so worth the effort. I paid $250.oo for it plus $235.00 to move it. I expect to have less than $2K total invested by the end.

I have no intentions to sell , but I've seen these sell for $30 to 45K, so I think worth the effort.

Another one of my threads where the pics vanished. Why is this happening?
