    Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a replica LP , It's apparently a Steve Hague build, not 100% sure . can anyone PM me some contact details for Steve so I can get him to verify the guitar .... thanks in advance . Best LP I've ever owned , I've removed the Wizz pickups that were in it when I got it and put in a set of real PAF's I bought a few years back, been waiting to find a guitar to put them in , an this one is deserved of them

    regards

Am I correct in the thinking that not one of the members of this forum can private message me contact details of Steve Hague? Is he that Taboo on here ????
The only response was a vague reference to Facebook.

It's bad. Doc's want to amputate at the shoulder, I'm toughing it out till I have to have it cut off. I'm ok though. I get up and head out to the woods or lake, spend quality time with the wife and keep busy inbetween hospital visits and chemo sessions.

Hope all is well for you and yours.

I bought a dog off a blacksmith last week, first thing it did when I got it home was make a bolt for the door.....

The sound of a chemo suite laughing is something to behold, strange world sometimes eh Al?

    Small things.

As they do, once the needle is in the vein and I settle into the infusion recliner, the nurse will ask if I am comfortable. I told her once, "I made a living. I can't complain." She just looked at me, puzzled, but the older Jewish man in the recliner next to me and his sweetheart of a wife cracked up.

Not sure if it was the joke or the nurse's perplexed expression.

Very cool guitar Duane! I can see why it would be your No. 1. Can you drop us a hint regarding the builder?

Do you plan to install covers on the PAFs? But most of all....how does it sound?

Yes more pictures Duane— thats a killer one!

great “just right” amount of flame and stuff. And I’m a sucker for lemon or un bursts

where in the world (if I can ask) was that made?

I like the knobs. I just got some creamtone ones for my CC 15 but they don’t really look all that aged to be honest

It was the last one built by a certain pickup winder of some renown in Croatia...

If I can find a set of original covers I will put them on, in the meantime I'm enjoying the added openness/airiness, clarity and chime...

I've always found the big fat rich sound of original PAFs unique in their chimeyness and depth of overtones... I've tried every boutique pickup under the sun and, to my ear, none of them capture that magic completely. Some come really close, but there is always some quality missing. I've played a ton of original PAFs and had a couple sets for some length of time, but this is the first set I can call my own and I'm sure that is what is coloring them as 'the greatest set I've ever played'. I'm sure when the honeymoon wears off they will compare more favorably to all the other PAFs, each possessing a uniqueness while simultaneously retaining that quality separating them from the clones. In the meantime I'm totally digging the sustain and overtones and responsiveness and touch sensitivity that they have in spades. While I totally love the old wire Wizzes that were in there before, there is something about original PAFs that really makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up when they are struck just so...

    Part of "the 5%".
There was a Gil Yaron set Peter had that he sold (Hrgmpf) that was just magic. They reside in a 62 SG now. They had it.
I would love to know what "it" is. What causes "it"?
I wonder if it is the tension coming off the windings after years of handling. There is something that can be measured- it is something mechanical affecting electrical. Maybe the old winders were less uniform in the tension?

Is it just me or is this terry Morgan ridiculously priced? Surely at £22k it better be a conversion. Last one I handled was £16k and I thought that was ridiculously priced especially considering it had BKs not even PAFs
