• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

How much does your ES 335 weigh?

So is DoubleBoogie's 9 pounder the heavy weight? I'm curious if anyone has a 335 type Gibson that has cracked 10 pounds or beyond? I guess I read the Guiness Book of World Records s little too much as a kid. The outliers are always intriguing.

I too have bigsby on my 335 and one of my Lester’s. They are heavy, yet so worth it. I have B5s on both.

Wimps! My 1966 ES345 is well over 10lbs, maybe even 11. It's heavier than my Norlin Les Paul. The Bigsby plays a part, no doubt.

I think it's safe to say that the weights of 335's are all over the map, the year has little to do with it, but Bigsby trems do, and threads like this can close or get a sticky status.

PS, anyone who weighs a git on anything but a digital scale has no clue how much it really weighs :)

Really? how about "it probably weighs xxxx", or "I think it weighs xxxx", or "it feels like xxxx"?

Interesting thread.

Never owning an ES-335 I assumed the model would "generally" be lighter than the 8 pound mark.

and threads like this can close or get a sticky status.

That's not really a thing on the LPF.
