Hi All,

Firstly thanks for all of your advice towards buying my first Gibson Les Paul in my other post, I really appreciate it.

Anyway I just bought a 2008 Les Paul Standard in desert burst with a AA flame maple top and locking grover tuners. It also has an asymmetrical neck which is amazing. I love the colour too and the previous owner fortunately never fitted its pickguard which is great as there are no holes in the body.

Wow what a guitar I love it, what do you think hope you like it.

Cheers :)

Built in the last quarter of 2008.

That's when they changed to the new circuit board in the control cavity.

A very handsome guitar saxosim. You can see how the flame changes as the light dances around, in the photos of the front.

No doubt she plays just as nicely as she looks.

Enjoy!!

Yours looks fantastic too thanks for sharing love the flame on yours. Yes your right I didn't see any other desert bursts for sale when I was looking for my Les Paul. I had a few colours in mind I would have gladly settled on but I have always loved the look of a darker colour like a desert burst or bourbon burst.

Same as you though I imagine the photos don't do the top justice as I can't capture how nice it is with my camera phone :)

Thanks tonyj yes it plays far better than I imagined and I just can't put it down :)

I like the burstbuckers though I am tempted in a few months to try a set of Throbaks or Bare Knuckle Mules to go in it with double cream bobbins as long as I can get them supplied with the Gibson quick connect plugs as I want to keep it almost standard except for a few reversible mods of solid black rear cavity plates and pickups :)

No hurry though as love it how it is currently I just love the look of the Robert Johnson burst with cream bobbin PAFs :)

Wow, Saxsosim, that is a beautiful guitar! That's just about EXACTLY what I'm looking for, even if the neck feels like a 2x4! You just upped the urgency of my search by a factor of 100 times, hope you are happy! Thanks for sharing those pictures, really nice guitar!

Very nice looking guitar. Play the hell out of it!

What is a Robert Johnson Burst? I though he died 20 years before any burst was ever built.
