• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Love ES's

Rickenbacker............can you describe what the Dr Vintage harness did with the tone? as I am contemplating going down this route.

Hey Groover, I'm not going to pretend to be musically equipped to start waxing on about tone on this site, in fear of being terribly abused. All I will tell you is that this particular 335 sounded a little dull and almost strangled, and now it is much brighter and has much more range on the tone pots than it did before. You should discuss it with Rick at Dr Vintage, he is very helpful. And I have to say that his harness is a work of art compared to the original which I took out. (and have kept intact should anyone want to put it back). He is the da Vinci of soldering.

Thanks Rickenbacker. I know tone is in the ear of the beholder but although the one I got from Toold doesn't sound dull its just lacking a little bit in the highs and I thought the pot change might be key.

'58 ES-225TDC that I had for a short time:

Another '58 that was the cleanest I've ever seen. Found it and tuned it up for a friend. I was the first guy to adjust the trussrod.

hb, that is cool... you don't see many 61's around. Do you have any more photos (head, fretboard inlays)? I became a Sheraton fanatic a few years ago while researching the model before buying my '62. Here's mine:
