Pickup SET vs Individual one

Hello!
I'm just wondering..
Is there ANY difference in ordering pickup set (neck+bridge) against individual buying one neck and one bridge pickup?

I understand "matched set" pickups in custom shop order. But if I'm buying pickups "of the shell", what's the point if they are all wind to same specific..?

Thnx for any input :cool2:

P.S. I'm after Lyndy Fralin set & maybe Slash Alnico II pickup set, but I have also a chance to buy both pickups(N+B) individually somewhat cheaper & faster!

No real difference, if they were made more or less at the same time. Reason being is some pickup makers will change the specs slightly of a particular model over time.
