• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I am a fan of the old Bandit 65 amps. I used one for years and it never let me down. A few years ago, I bought a used clean Peavey Valveking for $150. and it surprised me. I have the 100 watt head, but I have heard players use the combo and they seem pretty nice. I figured it would make a nice spare amp, but I use it all the time in the bigger venues and outdoor gigs. Yeah, the guys in other bands usually snicker when they see it coming, but who cares? I see them sneaking over to check it out once we start playing. It is quiet, it is easy to dial in a good sound (on both channels), it has been reliable, and it was inexpensive.
