Hi,

Reporting the theft of my beloved 2008 R8 Les Paul, serial
nº8 8723. The robbery happened at our rehearsing space last thursday nigh. A police report has been filed and they're working on it. A beautiful Fender American sunburst Strat was also stolen.

I don' think the guitar will make it overseas but I don't think them morons will sell it around here in near future, so just saying in case any international buyer is offered some of my guitars.

Here's the guitar, no pickguard, schaller straplock buttons and IMPORTANT, they didn't steal the hardcase so any R8 without original case should be carefully assessed.

Here's the strat, I know some of you don't like them, but it was a nice guitar and is also missed.

Of course I will reward any infos leading to the apprehension of the sons of beaches (intentional typo).

Thanks.

Matt.

Hi everyone,

Great news (for me at least).

My R8 has been recovered today!!!!. It has been a matter of persistance and not giving up. I am a stubborn S.O.B and my persistance paid off.

All these months (since march) I've been checking ebay, local boards, classifieds, etc... on a regular basis to see if one of the guitars popped up. A couple weeks ago, I came across a post in a forum I'm not very active in, of a guy who requested info and details of a guitar bearing the serial nº of one of my stolen guitars. In addition he published a link to a flickr album with pics of my guitar, beyond any reasonable doubt.

After finding that post I passed the information to the police, and requested the forum admin to provide the authority with the IP's and all available informatin about the user. As this could take, potentially months ( court warrant...etc) I used a little social engineering to obtain ID and contact data of the user who published the post. I approached him with an alibi of alleged interest in a guitar he had built from a kit, and he inmediately supplied his name and phone (landline and cellphone). With that data the police only needed a week to recover my much missed R8, and they're well on their way to pinpoint the asshole who stole my guitars and, hopefully, recover my strat.

Today is a day of great news, I've recovered my R8 and after 8 long years of incapable, shameful and embarrassing socialist rule, my country will have at least a decent government to try to mend the mess we are in...

Genuinely happy am I!!!!

Cheers!!!

Congrats on the return of your R8. I recovered two my stolen guitars with the same type of persistance you used. But due to bad police work the thief walked. At least I got my guitars back; a National Western D reso, and a 1961 Epiphone Century that I loved! The cops held my Epiphone for 6 months in evidence!!!
