• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Yes he is Tom !

Lots of cool music happening with "Our Kid" (now 78 years young ~Ringo too) the first leg was announced this month for the 2018 tour, it's called "FRESHEN UP" ( as in setlist I would say) ! His new album is called "Egypt Station". . . its release date Sepember 7th. Four singles are appearing online and PLAYED at the recent shows. He will again be doing Stadiums, "&" some small SECRET gigs..including one at Abbey Road Studio 2, and at "the Cavern" just last week . The backbone of his band is still Brian Ray, Rusty Anderson, Paul "Wix" Wikens, and Abe Laboriel Jr. >>>they've been with Sir P since 2002!!

Click HERE for a casual Interview with Sir P at "LIPA" last week in Liverpool

Of course "the 60" is still going strong stay tune for more...Burst wishes yall ! :salude

Please welcome my friend "GetBack" to LPF from NJ. A music teacher, photographer , friend of mine with a pretty cool story to tell>>long story short>> Macca brought him and his father up on stage at a sound check!! They played Get Back ... Brian Ray loaned him one of his signature SGs, and now he actually owns one. How cool is that ??

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am a very blessed guy and would love to talk about it with anyone who is interested. Looking for a 60 Burst to go along with my Macca collection. Coming close but none have that "McCartney Burst" I'm looking for... HELP!!! :)

I saw Paul at Austin City Limits festival yesterday. It was a 2 hr 15 min setlist. He only used the burst on The End. He used the custom painted 'people' LP on a few songs earlier in the set. Overall it was an amazing show. I was pretty close to the front and didn't even need to rely on the big screens to see everything in its full glory.

He used his original '63 Hofner and played a modern Martin D28 as well. The two Epiphones (Texan and Casino) did not make an appearance.

Rusty and Brian had some very nice Gibsons as well, though I don't know what's actual vintage vs reissues. But their band had by far the best tone and sound mix of the various bands I saw on stage that day. It was loud, but not harsh on the ears at all. Pablo is good at what he does and got a shout out from Paul.

The Texan not even used on 'Yesterday'?

I believe the voice is still there. I have been playing clubs since I was 14, yes 14(things were different then) I am almost 50. I sing about 85% of our shows. Granted I am not Sir Paul and I play smoke filled bars, but as a singer you learn how to protect/use your voice. My voice isn’t as high as it was at 14 duh! But it’s STRONGER than ever because I learned how to sing. Paul came up in Hamburg singing 8 sets a night. He is a legend he is part of the most important band in history. He is a treasure and lets appreciate him while we have him.

There are four known left handed Bursts. :ganz

tom wasnt one of them mcenroes? i didnt spell that right! i think it went through an auction and i remember it went reasonably it seemed considering it was a lefty.
i know rick nielson sent paul the lefty burst, i heard a radio interview later with cheap trick and the burst was brought up and robin zanders said paul never paid rick for it! i hope he finally did. love the beatles my number one fave band of all time.

John McEnroe owned the only [known] 59 left handed Burst. The other three were 1960 models. :salude
