• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

SHotly after the last time I saw Paul play, I caught Paul Westerberg at a mid-sized club in Solana Beach. Abe Laboriel was on drums. Man that guy works hard.

Some people really dislike Macca, but I have to admit he's the guy I admire most on this planet.

WHAT is there possibly to dislike about Paul ?...Rock n Roll is surviving partly because of this guy..forget about what he did in the '60's &'70's...:2zone

I've been a fan forever. I love his solo stuff, even the more recent material. "Only Mama Knows" off the last album is an excellent song. His albums may not have all gems, but there are always several songs that, had he recorded them in the old days, would be thought of as classics today.

How about (same LP)...That Was Me ?

"...mersey beatin' , sweatin' cobwebs, in the cellar, under contract, acapella , at the altar,:hmm , under contract, on TV...that was me..."

Indeed....

I do love >Mama Only Knows>it too rocks the record...
Memory Almost Full & Chaos and Creation in the Backyard..Genius solo efforts. That is what he does, what not to like?

It should've been called McCartney III & IV , iirc he played all the instruments. a little history ..kinda cool..
.
Memory Almost Full is an anagram of "for my soulmate LLM" (the initials of Linda Louise McCartney). When asked if this was intentional, McCartney replied; "Some things are best left a mystery". In an interview with Pitchfork Media, McCartney clarified, "I must say, someone told me [there is an anagram], and I think it's a complete mystery, because it's so complete. There does appear to be an anagram in the title. And it's a mystery. It was not intentional." The album's title was actually inspired by a message that came up on his mobile phone. He thought the phrase summed up modern life.

His '60 solo here around ...3:30 on House of Wax...

Man, I was blown away by his tour here in 2001-2

One of the first songs was "Let Me Roll It". That Burst sounded amazing in Staples Center.

spoke w producer engineer Al Schmidt today in NYC- he's been recording Paul's next new Album- and mentioned that it was incredible and has a bit of a Jazz feeling.

I don't recall it being discussed here. Hard to miss it now :hmm and I'm too lazy to search it.

Did not Gibson use a "different red paint" on 60' meant not to fade as much as 58's and 59's ?
