• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I've shown it before but here it is again. My 1978 LP Special Double Cut. It originally had P90's but back in my "Metal Head" days I put in Dimarzios. It currently has a 496R/500T set in it. It sounds awesome.

Everyone must be getting fed up of seeing this – 73LPC:

The more I play this guitar the more I like it. Great tone when the volume is turned up being played through a Fender combo - no effetcs - but at last weeks practice I was glad to swap over to the Strat. After an hour 10lbs (approx) gets a bit tiring on the shoulder at my age :)

Bought 1985’ish for the princely sum of £350 when any self respecting guitarist had a pointy headstock and locking whammy. All plastic parts changed to cream before I got it Ibanez bridge which I prefer (I’ve the original). Original PUs and wiring. Changed machines and a I refretted it myself. A true pancake Norlin with a 5 piece top. A case queen for 24years she now get a good thrashing since I joined a band.:)

I only have one Norlin right now. This Heritage Standard 80 that I have recently acquired and have already shown here before:

Amazing player with one of the best LP sounds I've heard. I bought it all original with the only exception of frets. Now I just put locking steel studs on the tailpiece and replaced the Nashville bushings with the Faber steel BSWKIT.
The Shaw pickups needed just a tiny bit more brilliance for my tastes, so I removed the covers. Now it's perfect.

In the past I've owned a 75 Deluxe rather briefly. I didn't like the sound of the minis with a maple neck, too trebly. And a 1970 GT Deluxe that I put P90s in. These days I wouldn't mind adding an ivory 74 20th Custom if a good one happens to cross my path...

I miss it too :(

I like the humbuckered one better and eventually sold the P-90 goldtop - it was a nice guitar

Are you sure that Firebrand is a 1978? I always though the Firebrand series didn't come around until 1980.:hmm

The flame on these tops reminds me of the stripes on a tiger. And those Series 7 pickups sure can roar! I like how they split so well for cleans too. Very versatile.

That's a beautiful spotted creature in the b/g. Is it an eel?
