• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi! I know it's an old post, but i have the same issue! On 2017 i bought a 58' jr from Norman Rare Guitars (video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBSICs_i5o8&t=186s). I found that the guitar seems to be too loud for a normal eardog P90 (as anyone experience this problem?), so i opened and surprise, i found that its also a soapbar P90. I tried to change it for an eardog antiquity seymour duncan but it didn't fit, the pickup was waaay too high.
The serial number is 8 5136.

Personally I would leave the guitar as original as possible.

Sorry about the threadomancy ,but here's a sneaky peak under 6610's skirt. She's another 4 digit 58 with a soapbar.
