• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I have a 1948 L7C. My take was - reading Gruhn's book, that all postwar L7 have laminated backs. But nevertheless thanks for the head-up with the centerseam on the solid backs.
I like George. I've done business with George. Hung out with him at NAMM. On this point, he is simply wrong, which is no big deal. One-piece back thing is definitive. Centerseam thing may not be definitive, but is a useful rule of thumb.

Is your guitar an L-7C or an L-7P? Post a shot of the cutaway!

It says L-7C on the label.
