Hopefully RS can chime in here, in addition to those of you who have experience with these caps and pots...

I have an 03 R7 with 500K CTS audio taper pots in it. I am switching the volume pots to RS Superpots and adding Jensen caps. Any suggestions as to the best wiring to take advantage of these caps and pots?

Thanks.

Here http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1003294&postcount=1 you have 2 basic options:

1. modern wiring http://www.dominocs.com/Gibson/WiringLibrary/wiringModern.jpg
2. 50s wiring http://www.dominocs.com/Gibson/WiringLibrary/wiring50s.jpg

Search here & read comments.

Generally, those who use 50s, do not use any treble bleed.
Those who use modern mostly use some kind of treble bleed/treble bypass/high pass filter on vol pots.

Here are all 3 options : http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/potm.htm (scroll down to 2nd half of the page).

With RS Superpots I use modern wiring with treble bleed -> cap and res in series : cap 100pF to 560pF res 130k to 220k.

Try both (modern & 50s) using aligator clips and decide for yourself.

HTH?
