With stainless steel studs, you won't need extra thumbwheels. If you don't want tonal change, just buy original brass studs.
I’ve found on my own guitars that double thumb wheels sort of kills some of the sustain and changes the sound/ tone..

Interesting observation. I've gone to two and forgotten what it may have sounded like with one? Next string change.....:dude:
