Sorry, not an Historic, but my former original 54 goldtop. The only guitar I've ever regretted selling.

Thanks Elmo. The P-90 in the SG Jr. is a beast. A righty friend of mine came over this week and blasted it through a JCM800 half stack. Tons of grit and bite.

That 54 Goldtop is very sweet. I really wish Gibson would make a lefty R4 Historic.

R0_97_0265a.jpg

Time to revive an old lefty thread :salude to show off my R0 '97. Finally finally got around to taking some decent pics of it...
Lots of vintage parts: PAFs, knobs, pointers, nuts, screws, tuners, TRC, switch tip, knurled ring, strap knobs.
ABR-1 and tailpiece are Faber. Pup rings are old Dimarzios.
I have more vintage stuff to put on/in it yet - a complete harness w 50's bumblebees, etc.

Beautiful!!! What tone changes did you notice when you put in the PAFs. I had a great set of double whites in my Rossington briefly, and the difference was unbelievable!

Here's my latest Rossington pic, from a recent thread requesting photos of guitars outside "sunbathing".

These are short mag '61's so the difference is not as big as it might be with long mags.
But it was still striking - I can't say in exactly what way, but it sounded 'right' in some strange way that was just so damn good. I was going 'yeah', and 'YEAH!!' all the time when I played. And I'm still doing that lol.
Rounder, fuller, better.

And love that Ross! :salude

ES-330_68_0294.jpg

And this one: My 1968 ES-330.
Some big changes have been made on this one, before my time: Switched to lefty (a long time ago, probably a few years after it was made) and then routed to humbuckers (more recently). It has the 'long neck' (1st year).
This is an absolutely wonderful guitar, like a very acoustic and very lively ES-335. Love it, love it!

Thanks for the complement! My Ross has Antiquities in it. I recently swapped out the magnets for a set of 50s long magnets, the difference was amazing! Much closer to the sound of the double white PAFs that I had in her briefly.

I might be ordering a lefty Faded Standard (if they ever ship) or get another Standard from Saul. I know he has a couple R9s, but I don't want to drop that kind of coin.

Lefty R4 (with Lollars) that I just got a couple weeks ago along with my '65 Princeton Reverb. What a combo. Best LP I've ever played. Smokes my old R7.
