NGD - Joe Perry Aged and Signed Les Paul. Are the Signed ones “better?”

I have an aged Joe Perry 1959 and just bought an aged/signed. It’s never been played and my aged has been played a ton so it will be a while before I can truly a/b them. I’m curious when Gibson/Tom Murphy made these (along with the other ones like the aged/signed Billy Gibbons) if they made the “best” ones the aged/signed, then the ones that were REALLLLY GOOD the aged ones and the ones they thought were good, but not as good (if that makes sense) the VOS ones? Or is it all just random?

the aged/signed is the one with the sticker on the pick guard.

Very nice the aged signed color is more appealing to me , both are very beautiful guitars !
Ive never confused owning a bunch of high end gear with being some kind of a guitar player I'm a hack and I love guitars !

The myth :The most disturbing thing about buying a fake Les Paul is how my research after the purchase is received by Forum members ??? 2020

The Myth: Neat wiring layouts always equate to great-sounding amps.

The Myth: If I would have lived with MOM & mooched till I was 48 I would play like Clapton !
    Think about it
    won't you ...... Please !

At best, the entire series was completed then arranged in the same room for Perry. If Perry was keen, he could have inspected, played, or otherwise picked favorites based on criteria known only to Joe, then signed based upon his segregation.

Not saying he did, just he could...
It is known that's what Page did, but every artist is different!]

So, maybe it has some mojo that tickled Joe's fancy in the 5 minutes he spent with it.
That said, does it really matter if you enjoy it, and it's a good guitar?

Nice guitar, hope you dig it!

If Joe Perry really did take any time to play and select the ones that he signed based on their quality, I am sure Gibson would have loudly advertised this and made you pay for it.

Think of the commercial pull of being able to say "These were good enough for Joe"...

I concur and believe that would have been a premium attached to that .

Custom Shop one-off. Kinda evolved into his GoldRush which recently came out.

    Here's my aged/signed Joe Perry:

    Mike Slubowski

    * "Gibson guitars are like potato chips - you can't have just one!"

    * "So many Gibsons to love, so little time..."
