• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Consensus seems to be that 60/40 ish rosin core solder is cool for LP electronics. But what composition is this, lead/zink , Zink/???? .

Also what thickness should I get?

60/40 would be 60% tin and 40% lead, .031" in diameter. 63/37 is better if you can find it. 60/40 is probably the industry standard because of availability and is perfectly fine for working on guitars.

Thanks!

0.031 inches right? That would be about 0.8mm's I think.
