When the NAMM show comes to town, I'm always reminded of the time me and several of my buddies at Gibson loaded up and drove to Chicago to attend the NAMM show there. It was the late 80's and I'll never forget watching Yngwie doing a demo about 4 feet in front of me.
Here's a couple of the guys that went with me. The first one is Louie Biss. Louie came down from Kalamazoo to help start the Nashville plant. He was the Neck Line Supervisor. He was THE MAN when it came to anything to do with the neck/fingerboard processes.
Next was Ernie King. Ernie was a great friend and an awesome guitar player. (He also liked Strats.) After I left, he went on to work at the Custom Shop.
Great memories of some very talented guys!!
