• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Thanks!

Revolting is the correct term for that awful repair job. I wonder why Beck did not get it restored properly afterwards - he must have liked as he did use it for years.

@Keef: Have you ever read the book Crazy fingers? It's an unauthorized bio of Jeff Beck and there's a lot of info in that book about this particular guitar! Bol.com has it in stock if you are interested!

What year did Beck get the 'Yardbirds' Burst?

In other words, was the correct British Burst order Keith Richards/Clapton/Green/Beck or a different order?

According to Tony Bacon's book: Beck saw Clapton with a Les Paul and he made a mental note! :)

But, he used it on 'Over under sideways down' which was recorded before the Beano sessions of 66! :)

Apparently loved the thicker, sustain-laden sound Clapton was getting....Funny about OOUSD, doesn't sound LP like to me at all - always thought it was the Esquire.
