Yes, but point being racks as portrayed above -- as a 'bane' -- never went away, just the 2U components, were replaced, etc. Of couse, some run pedalboards, etc.

The funny thing is (...or isn't it ironic? don'tch think..) --

We have crossed the Rubicon.

Artists are now using racks with shelves to house pedals.
Used to sell heaps of that gear back in the day but never bought anything myself that was rack style, guess I've owned about 6 or 7 pedals over the years and have 3 left now one of which I use on stage, a cheap danelectro slapback/delay pedal, I'm just a stickler for a gat straight into the amp.
