No RO for 2004

I hear that the RO is not going to be produced next year.....Interesting. Gibson made approx 330 this year. Not too many compared to the production of the R8 and R9 (Almost 1100 each).........The poor RO!!!!! Oh well.........maybe in 2005 we'llsee a resurgance.

Yeah this is real interesting if true, because I wasn't aware that there was an overabundance of unsold R0's on the market.
Btw..they discontinued the R0 in 2000, only to bring it back in '01 when the resale prices on available ones bumped up quite a bit.

Hmmm, looks like both of my early '03 R0s with Braz RW and Eastern tops just became very collectible.

Looks like they are really trying to isolate the R9 as the flagship model with the best features and price it accordingly. Too bad for those like myself who don't care for the exaggerated neck profile.

The latest R9's have necks that seem to be sized at what the R0's used to be.

Sorry........I heard they will finish the last run of 60 guitars by The end of Feb. Then thats it................They have done this in the past only to bring it back. I believe their was a year when they only made the R8. We'll see what happens.

Remember.....I started the thread regarding the transfer of production of the LP Custom over to the custom shop (the 'only' improvement is the addition of an extended neck tenon. (extended, not a true long neck tenon)........

My source is pretty accurate.........we'll see

Happy New Year all!

Speaking of which, was that 1998 when they just had the R8? I thought at the time they said they were discontinuing the R8's as well---that this 1998 model was the last, and that it was a 40th anniversary deal. "Buy now, because never more." There was a bunch of hype about that at the time. Of course..lol...they DID come back.
