Chambered R8 Content: Proceed with Caution!

This 2009 Chambered 58 came from the factory with a very bland iced tea color. So after almost a year’s wait
it is finally back sporting this stunning Cherry Sunburst color! Thanks Tom, as always your work is amazing!

Keep in mind, these 58’s are supposed to be lightly figured;
I think somebody was asleep at the wheel when they let this top slip through…

7 pounds, 0 ounces!

Has TopGun ever presented a sub-par Gibson?

Holy Crap!! Top Gun, you have some of the most amazingly gorgeous guitars that I have seen on this forum. Congrats on yet another stunner! As you know, my new CR8 weighs 7 lbs 2 ounces and it still freaks me out every time I pick it up! Amazing experience, huh?

Soundwise, how does the '09 CR8 compare with the '07 CR8s you've shown here before?

DoubleBoogie:

Thanks for the nice comments, U2 have some killer guitars…

Aren’t these chambered LP’s the greatest but yet they still seem to be flying under the radar; go figure???

To me they have all of the tone that one would expect from a solid LP, but with more sparkle & top end clarity.

In addition, they seem to get that harmonic response (with overtones) quicker than the solid tops… And the sustain seems to last longer and come easier on these guitars.

Re: Chambered R8 Content: Proceed with Caution!

Matt:

Well, I have a 96 R8 that I would put up against any Les Paul....but its a freak, so it really doesn't count.

Seriously, the Chambered R8's are the best bang for the buck out there.

Matt:

Good memory and I have to agree that some of the 2008/2009 CR8's have incredible tops that are definitely are more than mild.
