neck angle on R9/ do they vary?

do the neck angles on R9's vary or are they consistent
did gibson get them right to 4 degrees

Gibson never 'got them right' to 4 degrees in the first place. If you measure several old guitars carefully you'll find as much as a degree variance in these things from guitar to guitar, even with sequential serial numbers, which makes you assume they were built at around the same time.
The neck fits are all hand-done, and each piece is individually fitted at the shoulder. THus, your R9 will probably not have the same neck angle as mine.
They're a lot closer than they used to be, though.
Your statement of 'getting them right at 4 degrees' is kinda whacked, though- there's no 'right' standard for it. NEck angle is set by bridge height, which is set by top carve sanding, which varies.

If you check out a bunch of historics, and old Lesters, you will notice that the bridge height is all over the place.

No, never heard of the guy. Must be a different banch of the tree, I guess. I do have a cousin David Paetow who lives in Phoenix.

I built a harley for a dude with the last name of paetow, he happened to drive it through a house in Arizona and wrecked it, but his name was stan. Hmmmm, if he wasn't from jersey I would have wondered if your cousin changed his name!2
