Yes Sean, every time I play my Junior TV (or SG TV, it doesn't matter) I feel happy. That is almost every day. Guitars are there to be played - not to be handled as an investment like shares or stocks. Give them your attention, your warm hands, not a place in a safe.

Good guitars should be played by skillful players, not novices. I recently heard a story that a very rich man bought a 60 LP Standard for a lot of money; he now takes guitar lessons. I would never sell my yellow beauty to a person that is not able to make her sing - no matter what the offer is.

I am grateful to Tom, who send me some Oldenburg pics today. I want to share one of these pics with you. By looking at this picture I get the feeling there's a lovelight in my eyes. We have been together for so long. I have lost my hair and my youth. She is as beautiful as she was when I took her out of the case for the very first time.

Both the LP Special and the TV Model silkscreens were damaged and they chose not to replace them.
I had a red 1960 Special [LP style, not SG body style] and the hangtag said SG Special.

Fred, I am glad you posted that pic! I think it is important to remember how much love and affection some of us have for our old guitars. You play this one, along with other guitars you have. Because it is a great guitar! I like people to remember this love we have, besides rarity and dollar value.

Thank you for sharing the story and pictures of your left handed Gibson.
This comment of yours struck a nerve in my funny bone though- "Good guitars should be played by skillful players,
not novices."

The irony to me being that this model was intended as an entry-level student instrument in Gibson's electric guitar offering, and priced low as well. No disrespect intended,
just pointing it out.

It would really be awesome to find out how many other people owned this very same guitar,
since leaving Gibson- going to the 1st dealer- then the 1st end user- and whoever since then- prior to Frank owning it.

Very good playing and tone. I do hear a big MT influence in your playing especially your bends and vibrato. MT is the man and was one of my biggest influences. Mainly the Stones era. Again thanks for posting this as well as info on your TV. What a great story. Play her in good health

Today I stepped onto a bathroom scales with and without the guitar. The difference was 3200 gr. = about 7 pounds (lb).
